A Basement Waterproofing System that WORKS

Drain water down and away from the house—even on the inside
June 7, 2023

This is a basement waterproofing detail that is standard to OA Design + Build + Architecture:

A dimple mat sheeting that extends eight inches above grade, running down the foundation wall, past the slab insulation, past the capillary break, and into the drain tile, to the sump pump.

But what if you're lowering the slab?

The detail is pretty much the same, except the dimple sheet must extend past the structural curb and into the new drainage tile, which is inside the curb.

Direct water down and away from the house. In basements, sometimes that includes a sump pump to go up and out.
